“Digital art...there’s no way to really say who owns it...But once you put it on the blockchain, then it becomes something very limited. Then you can control how many there are and say, “No, the only real ones are attached to this token/print.”

How R.A.R.E. Works

Selling LIMITED EDITION DIGITAL WORKS is a new way for artists to monetize. If artists make more money, the world will make more art.

This is our mission.
STEP 1
The Artist Creates their Digital Art File...
STEP 2
The Artist uploads on R.A.R.E.

Then titles the piece and uploads the description or attributes at their choosing.

Next, decides how many numbered copies or prints should exist and sets the price.

The file is uploaded to the permanent web (IPFS), ownership tokens are minted for collecting, and the artist can now begin to sell.

STEP 3
Collectors bid on the art, or buy it outright.

Collectors use Ethereum to acquire art at a fixed price or in auction 24/7 like a modern art market.

Ethereum smart contracts handle all auctions and fixed-price purchases, which allow trustless transfers of R.A.R.E. assets

Collectors store their R.A.R.E. assets in their Ethereum wallets and can trade at any time.

STEP 4
Curators will become Gallerists...

R.A.R.E. will enable curators and art collectives to promote and show off their collections.

Once established, the R.A.R.E Registry will exist to reward the community to weed out frauds and spam.

If attending the first ever live Rare Pepe auction taught me anything, it’s that if people are willing to spend digital assets worth nearly $40,000 on these things, then the traditional art world is going to have to ask itself Parker’s tough questions whether it wants to or not.
The company (R.A.R.E.) plans to tokenize digital artworks, thereby giving them a home on the blockchain, and to advise artists on how — and for how much — to sell their work.
If you can create a market for kittens, you can do it for digital art
The attendees of Rare AF believed they were witnessing history. They were certain that blockchain technology would reshape the future of digital art for years to come.
